Prepare to be captivated by the dynamic soundscapes of Astro-Lloyd, the alternative rock sensation hailing from Sweden. Their highly anticipated second album, ‘Loud Noises’, is poised to reignite the spirit of alternative rock, drawing inspiration from the iconic styles of My Chemical Romance and Green Day in the early 00s. If you yearn for a fusion of alternative music intertwined with pop culture references influenced by Biffy Clyro, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, and Parks and Recreation, then Astro-Lloyd is the band you’ve been eagerly awaiting.
Comprising four extraordinary drummers and a skilled bass player, Astro-Lloyd is a collective of pop culture aficionados who were deeply inspired by KISS from a young age and now venture into the realms of alternative space rock. Their primary mission is to revive the limelight on alternative music, much like the groundbreaking successes of Green Day and My Chemical Romance in the 00s. To commemorate the release of ‘Loud Noises’, they are gearing up for an epic album launch party.
Astro-Lloyd has gained recognition for infusing their songs with popular cultural references, and ‘Loud Noises’ continues this trend. Tracks like ‘Gnorts, Mr. Alien’ channel the nostalgic vibes of the hit TV series ‘Stranger Things’, while ‘T-Shirt’ pays homage to the beloved film ‘Jurassic Park’. However, this album also explores captivating narratives, exemplified by the track ‘Please and thank you’.
According to the band, the creative journey behind ‘Loud Noises’ began with an old riff that emerged years before their debut album. It remained dormant until the Corona pandemic presented the perfect opportunity to refine it into the masterpiece it is today. The song reflects the challenges of being in a band, where strong-willed individuals with diverse visions collaborate to create something, everyone can be proud of. Drawing inspiration from Them Crooked Vultures and infusing pop-punk influences, Astro-Lloyd crafted a mesmerizing verse riff that effortlessly transitions between mellow and swinging variations.
Astro-Lloyd is composed of Andreas Jabrell, Nils Lindkvist, Mattias Hallin, Gustaf Danielsson, and David Siven. While four of them boast a background as drummers, David skillfully handles the bass. The band enlisted the expertise of William Grube (Liar Thief Bandit), a fellow drummer, for the recording and mixing of ‘Loud Noises’. Additionally, they took charge of the album’s production, transforming a cold garage outside Malmö into their creative sanctuary from 2020 to 2022. Embracing a DIY ethos, they tirelessly sought the best methods to capture their unique sound.
Astro-Lloyd’s independence extends beyond their music, as they manage every aspect of their artistic journey. From crafting visually captivating music videos to handling PR, advertising, booking, and producing their own concerts and tours, they are wholly dedicated to their craft.
Save the date for June 2nd, when ‘Loud Noises’ will make its grand entrance into the world. To commemorate this milestone, Astro-Lloyd will host a release party at Grand in Malmö on June 10th. Join them as they electrify the stage with their explosive energy, redefining the alternative rock scene.
