Enitu and producer Yul have teamed up to offer a refreshing interpretation of the renowned French song “Si Maman Si” by France Gall. Their collaborative work brings forth an innovative electro adaptation that provides a modern and captivating twist to this timeless classic.
Scheduled for release on Résiste Records on October 27, 2023, this joint effort between Enitu and Yul revitalizes the iconic track. Enitu’s musical journey began at an incredibly young age, singing before she could even speak. Her extensive background includes performances with various choirs, including those at Sorbonne Universités, where she participated in prestigious classical concerts held across France and Abu Dhabi. Simultaneously, she became a fixture at Parisian open mic events, participating in numerous concerts with diverse music groups. With this rich foundation in music, Enitu is gearing up for her solo debut, a collaborative project with Yul.
Yul, known for his multifaceted skills as a musician and sound designer, has been an active participant in the creative arts, spanning DJing, collaborations in cinema, theater, and installations. As the founder of Résiste in 2004, he established a space dedicated to radio dramas, sound post-production, artist management, and more. Yul’s musical journey under Résiste began to take shape in 2016, resulting in multiple EPs, singles, clips, and a notable 2022 EP under the alias Toxiq in collaboration with Claire Deligny and Manuel Roland. Their collaboration to reimagine “Si maman si” for Résiste Records’ 12th release signifies a fresh chapter for the iconic song. Their electro-infused rendition provides a distinctive perspective, breathing new life into the much-adored track.
