Montera draws inspiration from an extensive array of sources. They are heavily influenced by the songwriting brilliance of artists from the 60s and 70s, such as Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, and their solo endeavors. Additionally, they incorporate elements from 90s music, particularly Radiohead and Pixies, which contribute to their more intense and edgy sound. Montera’s diverse musical palette reflects the rich tapestry of their influences.

While Montera is still in the early stages of their musical journey, they have already graced the stage at a Berklee campus gig, foreshadowing more exhilarating performances to come. They are actively working on a recorded live session. Stay tuned for their upcoming shows and appearances at festivals.

The album “Spring” was meticulously recorded at Berklee Studios and The Record Company in Boston. The recording process involved a dedicated team, including Tomas Cueva, Luca Nicchiarelli, Hank Friedman, and Nicole Nelson. Tomas Cueva took charge of production and mixing, ensuring that each song achieved its full potential. The album was expertly mastered by Denis Blackham at Skye Mastering. All songs on the album were written by Max Buenaventura and Tomas Cueva.

“Green” – An energetic track delving into environmental themes, evoking a tinge of melancholy. The lyrics carry a sermon-like quality, complemented by a captivating guitar solo and a contemplative instrumental section that transports listeners to another realm.

“Far Out Woman” – A heartfelt ballad exploring the complexities of love and longing. Montera embraces romanticism while acknowledging the pitfalls and illusions that accompany it. This track showcases their ability to capture the beauty intrinsic to the sorrow of love.

“Psychedelic Sunblock” – A predominantly instrumental song that highlights Montera’s experimental side. The vocals, featuring Ninaad Raman, transcend mere words and become an instrument themselves, creating a chaotic and unconventional beauty. Montera’s debut album is a mesmerizing blend of tranquil and energetic melodies, delivered with authenticity and boundless creativity. Their unwavering dedication to finding beauty shines through in each track, leaving a lasting impression.
