Within the vast tapestry of the music industry, where myriad voices clamor for recognition, there persist those bold musicians who shun conformity in favor of embracing the raw and unfiltered language of self-expression. Polemica’s most recent offering, “…and now…,” embarks on a visceral journey through the realms of societal introspection and self-critique, providing a sanctuary within the cadence of their music for the candid expression of vulnerability.
Staying true to their commitment of pushing the frontiers of both sound and introspection, Polemica’s album, “…and now…,” is scheduled for release on September 30, 2023. This audacious musical venture dares to transgress conventions, quests for sonic purity, and solidifies an identity that remains in the process of definition. Comprising raw and powerful sounds, it encapsulates the vestiges of rock, infuses a spirit of experimental vitality, and culminates in an ensemble of raucous anthems. It is a musical whirlwind, where the journey both begins and ends, echoing through an infinite circular dance.
“…and now…” weaves a sonic narrative of the human condition, an oscillation between hope and despair. The album emerges as a fusion of pulsating grooves, introspective soundscapes, and the sheer force of presence. As the tracks unfurl, the music becomes a vessel navigating the tumultuous cacophony of our noise-riddled lives, offering a sanctuary for independent thought and contemplation.
Emanating from the very essence of “…and now…” is a resounding call to support independent music. Polemica, through their music, slices through the relentless social clamor, inviting listeners to engage in their auditory experiment. They extend an invitation to partake in a unique musical odyssey, urging you to embrace the discord, allowing the music to wash over you. So, don’t hesitate—turn up the volume and play it loud.
The captivating artwork adorning the album’s cover is the brainchild of British artists Paul Brennan and Dionne Swift. Their work, pop in its aesthetics, symbolic in its resonance, and powerful in its execution, seamlessly complements the band’s identity while enhancing the overall album experience. “…and now…” comprises ten electrifying tracks that serve as a canvas for Polemica to paint a portrait of their multifaceted musical personas. It’s a thought-provoking amalgamation of punk, funk, and noise—a genre that Polemica aptly dubs “thinkrock.”
Polemica, a band rooted in Italian and American influences (ITA / USA), came into existence in 2016. Mere months after their inception, the band produced their debut self-produced album, “Keep Your Laws Off My Mind.” Following this, Polemica embarked on a journey of live performances across Italy and completed three European tours between 2016 and 2017, earning accolades along the way.
In 2018, the band unveiled their second album, “Breach,” and recommenced their European touring, rekindling their bond with previous fans and expanding their listener base to include new territories. The global pandemic, COVID-19, provided the impetus for the band’s virtual musical collaboration entitled “Herstory in 3 Parts: Repeat, Remove, Create,” which was digitally released in 2021.
Polemica’s distinctive lineup features Hilary Binder (vocals), Giulio Marino (bass/backing vocals), Vincenzo Vik Di Santo (drums/backing vocals), and Zilvio (guitar/synth/backing vocals). Each band member contributes their unique musical experiences and influences to craft the signature Polemica sound.
“…and now…” is more than just an album; it is an auditory expedition that challenges perceptions of music, society, and self-expression. Polemica’s innovative approach paves the way for a journey through a musical landscape, leaving an indelible mark on all who dare to embark on this sonic odyssey.
