Some songs are written for headphones. Others are made to fill a room. “Beale Street Blue” clearly belongs to the second category.
Released on October 2, 2026, DJ CBee SUPREME’s Memphis basketball anthem brings together Southern hip-hop, city pride and the unmistakable energy of game night. Inspired by the culture surrounding the Memphis Grizzlies, the track connects the atmosphere of Beale Street with the communal excitement of sport, creating something that feels designed for a crowd as much as an individual listener.

At 170 BPM, there is no mistaking the song’s intention. This is fast-moving, high-energy music built to generate momentum. The arena-ready approach gives “Beale Street Blue” an immediate sense of purpose, while its Memphis identity keeps it from feeling like a generic sports anthem. The blue becomes more than a team colour; it becomes a point of connection between the city, its fans and its culture.
What makes the project particularly interesting is the creative partnership behind it. CBee SUPREME and producer Yugoki have developed their relationship through previous work connected to Memphis’ UrbanArt Commission and Embargoed Editions. CBee’s description of Yugoki’s production making him feel like “a Memphis playa in Santorini, Greece” says a lot about the unusual character of that collaboration: Memphis roots meeting an unexpectedly global perspective.
On “Beale Street Blue,” that chemistry is brought directly back into the Memphis environment. The result is a track that doesn’t separate music from place. Instead, it treats the city itself as part of the sound and the story.
That approach fits CBee SUPREME’s wider career. As a producer, recording artist and songwriter, he has built a catalogue that moves through hip-hop, lo-fi, jazz-influenced instrumentals and electronic music, while also creating music for film, television, advertising and other forms of visual media. His work has consistently explored ways music can exist beyond the traditional album format.
There is something particularly effective about applying that mindset to a sports anthem. “Beale Street Blue” has a clear function, but it also works as a celebration of Memphis identity. It is music for the pre-game build-up, the arena, the drive home and the city streets after the final whistle.
As the lead single from CBee SUPREME’s upcoming album BucTales, due in November, it also introduces the next chapter of his work with plenty of energy. If the goal was to capture the pride and adrenaline of Memphis basketball while keeping the city’s hip-hop character front and centre, “Beale Street Blue” understands the assignment.
This is Memphis music with the volume turned up—and the whole city invited.
