Over a year has passed since the world lost the legendary funk and soul musician Betty Davis. This year marks the 50th anniversary of her groundbreaking self-titled debut album, and in celebration, archival label Light In The Attic is unveiling a new series of Betty Davis reissues. This isn’t the label’s first encounter with Davis’ work, as they previously reissued her albums in the late ’00s.
The forthcoming reissue collection includes refreshed editions of her iconic albums: 1973’s “Betty Davis,” 1974’s “They Say I’m Different,” and “Is It Love Or Desire?” from 1976 (originally recorded in that year but released by LITA in 2009). However, the excitement doesn’t end there. Light In The Attic is also releasing “Crashin’ From Passion,” a previously bootlegged collection of tracks from Davis’ final recording sessions in 1979. It’s important to note that this version of “Crashin’ From Passion” was created with Davis’ complete approval before her passing.
Today, the label treats us to the title track of the album, which distinguishes itself from the song “Crashin’ From Passion” featured on “Is It Love Or Desire?”. Experience the electrifying sound of Betty Davis’ “Crashin’ From Passion” below. The highly anticipated 50th anniversary reissues from Light In The Attic are set to be released on 8/25, and pre-orders are now available.
Join Light In The Attic in honoring the extraordinary musical legacy of Betty Davis as they bring her timeless and trailblazing compositions to a new generation of listeners.
