“Don’t Talk Feelings”

Tia-Brittany’s “Don’t Talk Feelings” is the kind of pop track that understands how to make emotional vulnerability feel stylish rather than heavy. Built around contemporary pop production and a cinematic sense of storytelling, the song presents an artist who is clearly interested in the complicated spaces between romance, self-protection and emotional honesty.

What makes the track particularly interesting is the contrast at its centre. The title suggests emotional avoidance, yet the music and songwriting do almost the opposite. Tia-Brittany uses the song to explore feelings that are difficult to ignore, giving the track an intimate quality beneath its polished pop surface. Her vocal approach keeps the focus on the storytelling, allowing the emotion to come through without overplaying it.

That sense of narrative extends beyond the song itself. Tia-Brittany comes from a multidisciplinary creative background, with training in music and acting, studies in psychology and an ongoing interest in television and film. She also trains in classical opera, giving her artistic identity a breadth that goes beyond conventional pop songwriting.

The wider DTF project builds on that same idea. The album is presented as an emotionally honest body of work, with “Don’t Talk Feelings” functioning as its focal point. Collaborations with John Ho and Daniela Rivera helped shape the project, while filmmaker Pauline Chan contributed to its visual identity, reinforcing Tia-Brittany’s interest in treating music as part of a larger storytelling world.

There is also something genuinely personal underneath the polished presentation. Tia-Brittany’s experiences, including caring for her mother through breast cancer treatment, have contributed to the resilience and emotional honesty that run through her creative work.

“Don’t Talk Feelings” ultimately works because it doesn’t try to separate pop from emotional substance. It is contemporary, accessible and visually minded, but underneath that is an artist using songwriting to examine real human experiences. Tia-Brittany is building a creative identity that sits comfortably between music, cinema and storytelling, and this release makes a convincing case for paying attention to what she does next.
