Rushkeys Transforms Mookee’s “Anhaga” into a Serene Downtempo Journey

For his remix of “Anhaga,” Rushkeys took Mookee’s original track and undertook a complete transformation, turning it into a serene and journey-like listening experience. In describing his choice of the track, Rushkeys explains, “I was very happy when Mookee offered to remix one of the tracks from his latest EP on the Stereofox label. I’m a big fan of his music, and his latest release has been on my playlist for a long time. I chose the track Anhaga because I liked its cinematic sound and how beautifully instrumental textures are combined with electronic timbres.”

Rushkeys injected his creative voice into the remix by introducing more tense electronics, a faster tempo, and a floaty vibe while staying true to the original’s spirit. One distinctive element incorporated into the remix is the subtle background sound of Rushkeys walking through the snow in the middle of nowhere during his trip to Iceland. The word “Anhaga” itself, meaning ‘the alone one, or the loner,’ adds an earthier dimension, contributing to the overall feeling of loneliness and coldness in the track.

Known for blending dreamy melodies with solid rhythmic grooves, Rushkeys’ sound blurs the line between downtempo and organic house. His music becomes a means to express himself authentically and create connections with listeners. Growing up near the Baltic Sea, nature serves as a key creative inspiration for Rushkeys. As a professional sound engineer, producer, and composer, Rushkeys brings a wealth of musical knowledge and experience to his creations. He formally studied music from childhood, graduating from music school as a piano and saxophone player. He later delved into sound engineering and electronic music composition at The Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. With over a decade of experience working in a recording studio, Rushkeys has built a creative career that spans commercial and independent projects, composing music for advertising, films, fashion shows, and live performances.
